For Writers

Being an author isn’t just a creative venture. It’s also a job. I love my job, and I’m thrilled to be paid to do something I love. But I also know that there’s more to being a professional novelist than just writing the best book I’m capable of. There’s also the business side. And the balancing my work and my life side (which is especially hard to do, in my opinion, when you work from home and work is always right there).

I’m very grateful to the many wonderful authors and writer friends who have shared their wisdom and advice with me over the years. And, as you probably know if you’ve read through the rest of the site, I’m also a big believer in paying it forward. So here are some of the things I’ve learned along the way.

(Disclaimer:   Please keep in mind that I’m an MBA so looking at things from a business perspective is a big part of how I roll. You can take the girl out of the business world, but you can’t take the MBAness out of the girl, apparently.) :-)
