Alyson Noel is the New York Times bestselling author of the Immortals series. She was born and raised in The OC (although she never actually called it that until the TV show), and attended the Richard Nixon Elementary School for two years—a fact she finds both amusing and embarrassing.
After high school, she was desperate to flee suburbia and see the world, so after many trips to Europe she eventually settled in Mykonos, Greece for several years, before moving to Manhattan for several more, where she worked as a Flight Attendant for a major airline and wrote her debut novel, Faking 19, during long weather delays and boring layovers.
Then one day she was visiting a friend in Newport Beach and she met her husband. It wasn’t long before she’d come full circle, setting up house right back in The OC where she lives and writes full time.
Alyson’s Five
1. Commit to frequent acts of kindness and gratitude
2. Commit to random acts of charity
3. For new item purchased, donate something similar to a person, place, or organization that needs it
4. Commit to living greener and helping lessen and/or offset my environmental footprint
5. Commit to positivity, to keeping all communications a no snarking/no ranting zone, and happily post about what’s going right in the world
