Author Participation

Thank you for your interest in The Great Scavenger Hunt Contest™! The primary purpose of The Hunt is to offer libraries a free year-round reading program to encourage their kids and teens to read a variety of books currently on their library shelves. In keeping with that mission, participating YA and middle grades/tween books must have broad distribution on their own merits. The goal is to keep The Hunt populated with books already on the shelves of many participating libraries and new releases likely to be purchased by participating libraries.

To participate, YA and middle grades authors must meet one of two basic criteria:

1) The participating book must show a distribution of at least 100 in Worldcat.org

-or-

2) The book must be within the first 12 months of release from a non-subsidy, non-vanity publisher listed in Children's Writer's and Illustrator's Market
