  1. I always read Meg Cabot’s blog! I also really like Melissa Walker’s cover stories.

  2. First, I have to thank you for this post because the Jane Austen fanatic in me just lost her mind (in a good way) knowing there’s a book coming out in December titled “Scones and Sensibility”! I wouldn’t have known if you weren’t having this giveaway. Yay!

Second, this is a very good topic! I’ve actually been turned off to certain authors because of their blogs. They seem so far removed from the way everyday people live their lives (going on and on about that I just can’t relate to them, and it’s hurt the way I view their books. =(

I think Meg Cabot’s blog is fun! So is Jennifer Weiner’s, when she updates. Any anything Judy Blume writes demands my attention.

My favorite blog these days is Stephanie Kuehnert’s. She has a nice mix of stories from her real life, talk about her writing process, and awesome features on other authors. I’ve discovered some great books and music through her blog.

  3. Actually, yours is one of my favorites. You constantly post refreshing material about things going on in the book world as well as the blogging world. I love the layout and colors too!

Another authors blog I love is Scott Westerfeld’s. He has some amazing graphics on there. Plus his commentary is usually really funny. And he talks about, it seems, whatever is on his mind.

  4. UGH! Excuse the typo in that second paragraph. Seems my thought process shut off somewhere in there. =/

  5. I always keep an eye on Maureen Johnson’s blog because her posts are hilarious. I also regularly read Gayle Foreman’s and Michelle Zink’s blogs, just because I love their posts!

  6. I’m a very, very bad blog reader. Most of the blogs I read, both author and review, I have on my Google Reader, so I usually just scroll through them and often forget to read posts.

The one’s I probably read the most, however, are Mandy Hubbard’s (been following it for awhile) and Maggie Stiefvater’s (hilarity and randomness).

  7. I’m a huge fan of Lisa Shearin’s blog. She blogs a lot with writing advice and on her writing process, and it’s always so interesting! I also love Melissa Marr’s blog, especially her Q&A posts, where the readers are allowed to ask her pretty much anything. Her answers are always so interesting!

  8. I read a number of blogs daily. I adore Meg Cabot. I always love the news from Rock Riordan. The Buzz Girls (Books, Boys, and Buzz) are wicked fun. I could go on and on.

  9. I really enjoy Maureen Johnson’s blog and Libba Bray’s–they’re usually pretty funny! And Sarah Dessen was the first author’s blog I ever read, so I try to keep up with that, too. I read it before I even knew how big the online book community was.

Anyway, now I keep up with a bunch because they’re posted on my sidebar. :)

  10. I enjoy reading Jackson Pearce’s, Meg Cabot’s, and Maureen Johnson’s blogs because they are hilarious. I also like Maggie Stiefvater’s because it has lots of great content!

  11. I absolutely love both Sarah Dessen and Elizabeth Scott’s blogs. Elizabeth always has handy information about the writing and publishing world as it applies to writers, editors, reviewers, and consumers. Sarah Dessen does a “Friday Five” where she discusses 5 random things about anything. They are both wonderful resources and great women!

  12. Yours – which I read because you are always alerting me to people I wouldn’t ordinarily have the time to read about and also because you are very inspirational.

Tanita S. Davis – she talks about many things and reviews books that I want, but don’t have time yet, to read.

    C. Lee Mckenzie – cuz she’s like this real person who happens to write. I read her blog and her articles on Authors Now.

Authors Now – they introduce me to a lot of new titles. I love the variety of ways you can search. I can put books on my Amazon wishlist!

Nan Marino’s Ramble Street – she doesn’t post all the time but when she does, it’s worth waiting for

Robin Brande – I read her before I knew about Evolution, Me or Fat Cat! She’s funny and informative and hosts good challenges.

Mostly I look for writers who are accessible but will make time for their families and real, not virtual, friends. They are striving for balance but want to be heard. I want to know that they are real people, with hopes and dreams who wrote a book, or 2 or 3.

Makes me yearn for the days before twitter, facebook, goodreads, etc. when I read blogs and blogged occasionally and kept track of books in one space…

  13. Meg Cabot because she is so funny.

  14. Maureen Johnson & Libba Bray both has really funny blogs.

Yours always has some fun and interesting stuff whether it’s giveaways, high school stories (I loved that!), or stuff from the blogging community. It’s very refreshing.

Sarah Dessen because she was the first author blog I ever read, and I adore her!

  15. I read Sarah Dessen’s blog religiously. She updates regularly (Mon, Wed and Fri!) and I just love knowing what’s going on in the life of one of my favourite authors.

I also read Scott Westerfeld’s. Before the release of Leviathan he put up an illustration every so often and has lots of writerly tips at the moment at it’s NaNoWriMo.

And Meg Cabot. She makes me laugh so hard! Every other sentence is hilarious.

And too many more to name!

  16. I absolutely love your blog! I also never miss a post on Julie Kagawa’s blog! Becca Fitzpatrick and Chelsea Campbell are 2 other of my favorite author blogs.

  17. One of the greatest blog is Teens read books! It has awesome features and until now it has had an awesome contest!
And their reviews are honest and truthful

  18. What a great collection of blogs you guys read! You’ve hit on many of my faves too: Meg Cabot, Libba Bray, Melissa Walker… so many fun, entertaining and interesting ways to procrastinate, I say! ;-)

And thank you most humbly to those of you who mentioned this blog in your list. You’re very sweet. :-) I appreciate you!
