Join us on The Hunt!

Calling all teachers and aspiring writers

As her way of paying it forward, Kay is hosting a year-long TEEN AUTHOR CHALLENGE! If you’re an aspiring writer of teen or tween fiction… or are a teacher looking for a way to inspire your teens to write… this is a Must See event every Tuesday on the You 2.0 blog. From July 2009 to June 2010, Kay will be taking participants through the entire process from initial story idea and manuscript preparation to writing a first draft, editing until it shines, and getting ready to submit a polished manuscript to an agent or editor.

Best of all, participants learn there’s no right or wrong way to write a book. Kay will be sharing exclusive inspirational quotes from bestselling authors like P.C. Cast, Alyson Noel, Susan Beth Pfeffer and many more PLUS giving you the inside scoop on how your favorite authors create their masterpieces. Need more incentive? Each month, Kay will be giving away one book about the craft of writing from her very own bookshelf to one lucky participant.

New participants are welcome at any time, so join the Teen Author Challenge today!

Librarians, booksellers, and teachers… oh my!

And finally, a dose of cheer for when you need it most. Life is too short to feel unappreciated, so let’s make sure you know how much you rock. (Because you do.  Seriously.)  Check out SPREAD SOME CHEER with tons of quotes from YA and middle grades authors sharing why we love librarians, why booksellers rock, and stories about teachers who inspire us. And coming soon… a fabulous new cheer feature for teens. Have you had your daily dose of cheer today?
